Can I put my child on the waitlist if they are not born yet? How long should I expect to wait for a place for my child?

Yes, you can enroll your baby and join our waitlist as soon as you know you are expecting. At different times of the year our centre can become very busy, it is best to discuss expected waiting times with Rachael our Centre Manager.

 


 

Is there a minimum number of days required for enrolment?

No there are no minimum days required to attend Mitchell Street.

Our Funded Kinder program runs over a 3 day period, we run the program 5 days per week so it is up to you which days suit your needs.

 


 

Can I book an extra day above my normal days?

Yes, we encourage you to contact us and providing we have a place this can be arranged.

 


 

Is there an orientation program for new children and parents?

Our centre has a no obligation to enrol orientation program to allow you and your child to become familiar with and comfortable in our centre. Please speak with Rachael or Luke – about what your orientation program will involve.

 


 

What happens if my child is sick?

If your child wakes up sick in the morning please keep your child at home to reduce the risk of the illness spreading to other children and staff at the centre. If your child falls ill whilst in our care we will contact you or if your child is very unhappy or unsettled we will call you.

 


 

What are the educator to child ratios?

At Mitchell Street we operate with a minimum ratio of 1 educator to 4 children under the age of 3, and 1 educator to 11 children over the age of 3. At times we operate at higher educator to child ratios.

 


 

Do you provide programs that will prepare my child for School?

Yes. Our Centre offers an excellent School readiness program not only preparing your child academically but also socially and emotionally for the challenges of starting at school. Our curriculum covers a number of Key Learning Areas including numeracy and literacy.

Our Kindergarten Program is taught by a fully qualified Early Childhood Teacher.

 


 

What is included in the daily fee?

The daily fee is all inclusive covering meals, snacks, nappies, sunscreen and bedding. For babies we ask that parents supply formula or breast milk until your child is eating solids and able to enjoy the centre meals.

Your fees pay for:

  • High quality, affordable care from qualified and energetic educators.
  • Multi-culturally suitable and nutritionally balanced meals
  • A Pre-Kinder program for 3 to 4 year olds that is taught by a fully qualified teacher.
  • A Kindergarten program for 4 to 5 Year olds that is taught by a fully qualified teacher.

 

How do I pay my fees?

Billing is done via Debit success and you are asked to enter your details whilst completing the online enrollment. Fees are required to be paid two weeks in advance with the first payment being drawn before your enrolment commences.

 


 

 

Am I eligible for the Childcare Benefit or Childcare Rebate?

Rebates are different for every family and determined by the Government. We encourage you to contact the Family Assistance office to see what rebates are available to your family.
