We offer a ‘no obligation’ orientation program to allow you and your child to become familiar with and comfortable in our centre. We are happy to accommodate to your individual needs and look forward to learning what your orientation program will involve. At Mitchell Street, we operate with a minimum ratio of 1 educator to 4 children under the age of 3; and 1 educator to 15 children over the age of 3. At times we operate at higher educator to child ratios.
Our Centre offers an excellent School Readiness Program, which not only prepares your child academically – it helps to prepare them socially and emotionally for the challenges of starting at school. Our curriculum covers a number of Key Learning Areas including numeracy and literacy. We also find that your child’s developmental experience will be enhanced when they visit the centre for 2 or more days during the week. For children in the School Readiness Program, it’s best to enrol them for 3 consecutive days to help prepare them for the 5-day week at school. At Mitchell St Early Learning Centre, a fully qualified teacher teaches our Kindergarten Program.
