On the menu at Mitchell Street Early Learning Centre are age-appropriate balanced meals that are as delicious as they are nutritional, incorporating a wide range of fruit and vegetables. At Mitchell Street meal-times are about more than just the food. They are an opportunity for the children to have social time and develop language, self-help and hygiene skills. It is also a time to try new things and experience new tastes and textures.
We have our own centre kitchen and trained chef Adam who has over 25 years’ experience in the food service industry. Originally from Canada, where he was Head Chef at The Rendezvous Restaurant in Whistler, serving over 2000 meals a day. Adam has had the opportunity to work in a variety of locations around the world.
Adam has always loved to cook for people and has been in Victoria for the last 3 years working in a range of establishments ranging from large Sporting Clubs to intimate restaurants. Adam is excited about the opportunity to bring his passion for being a chef to this new role.
Some of Adam’s favorite foods to cook are Italian, Indian and Mexican dishes with the freshest ingredients and as locally sourced as possible. Adam’s emphasis at Mitchell Street is on healthy and nutritional foods including recognition of food sensitivities. Adam will provide the children with the best quality ingredients and variety of menu’s possible.
We ensure that our kitchen is safe, hygienic and audited regularly ensuring that dietary requirements are met, including those for children with allergies, who are vegetarian or have other special requirements.
